Joining us is easy. As of our 2018 by-law amendment; if you are cast in, or working on, an RYT production you are considered a member for that show’s season. There are no membership fees (production fees still apply).
Like our Facebook page so you will get up-to-date announcements, season launch and auditions dates.
Our production fees for 2020 are $250.00 per actor, per production.
If there is an issue with paying the production fees then please speak to a Producer. RYT will never turn away an actor for inability to pay.
Volunteer Commitment
All actors or their families are required to volunteer 20 hours or to pay a fee of $200.00. The 20 hours are very easy to accomplish as there is a lot of work needed to put on a show. No experience necessary.
Every actor/family will be required to write out a cheque for the $200.00 which will be cashed if the 20-hour minimum is not met.
Rainbow Youth Theatre strongly encourages family involvement during its theatre season and each production provides families with many opportunities to work together to produce great performances that will entertain audiences. Most importantly, it is the process along the way that reinforces the values of commitment, ownership, dedication, comradeship, and life long learning. Volunteers are an integral part of offering rich artistic experiences to our youth and there is a great deal of merit to the the saying “Many hands create lighter work!” It is vitally important that as an organization we spread out the jobs that are required to keep RYT going year after year.
Each production begins with a “Meet and Greet” at the beginning of rehearsals where a volunteer coordinator is present with a sign-up sheet for volunteer positions. Below are just some of the many roles that are needed to make each production a success. RYT would like to thank all of the hard working volunteers that have made the past 30+ years of youth theatre possible!

AGM
RYT’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held around November each year and RYT welcomes all interested individuals and those wishing to join the board of directors to attend. Every year in April or May RYT holds what is known as the SEASON LAUNCH where families can get detailed information about the upcoming season. Here you can meet the production teams, sign up for auditions, volunteer, etc.
Auditions
Auditions for each of the upcoming season’s shows generally take place in May or June and they are posted on this website and advertised through the local Comox Valley arts community network. By mid June, the summer productions are often fully cast so don’t be late getting registered.
